Open Competitive Examination for Recruitment to the Post of Meteorological Observer/Communicator (Training Grade) in the Sri Lanka Technical Service – 2026

Applications are invited from eligible Sri Lankan citizens for the Open Competitive Examination for Recruitment to the Post of Meteorological Observer/Communicator in the Sri Lanka Technical Service to the Training Grade. This examination will be conducted by the Commissioner General of Examinations in Colombo in October 2026.

Candidates who have qualified on merit as per the results of a written examination conducted by the Commissioner General of Examinations will be recruited as Meteorological Observer/Communicator in the Sri Lanka Technical Service for a period of 02 years. Officers who pass the aptitude test to be taken at the end of the said training will be appointed as Meteorological Observer/Communicator Grade III in the Sri Lanka Technical Service. The post is permanent and pensionable. Subject to a probationary period of 3 years.
