• Trainee Tank Farm Operator

We are a common user facility with two main installations and an island-wide network of bulk storage locations, providing services to Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, Lanka Indian Oil Company, Sinopec Sri Lanka, RM Parks & other business partners in the downstream petroleum.

Trainee Tank Farm Operator

Qualifications

1. NDT/HNDE/NDES as appropriate for the respective post.
   OR
   A qualification at NVQ level 5/6 as appropriate for the respective post.
2. Should pass a Trade Test (written/ practical).
3. Should not be more than 35 years of age as at the closing date of applications.

Selected candidates will be promoted to B-2 grade after the successful completion of two (2) years of training period.

Salary Scale : Rs. 107,990 – 5 X 1,275 : 10 X 2,025 – 134,615

Scope of work

• Follow institutional and consignment procedures, arrange pipelines and tanks properly, and supervise staff during fuel handling.
• Obtain tank measurements and fuel samples as per ASTM standards, verify accuracy, and ensure fuel meets specifications before issuance.
• Handle aviation oil and other special fuels according to JIG standards and recommendations.
• Identify and fix defects in pipelines, pumps, and tanks, and reconcile fuel quantities during transfers to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain safe environments, comply with fire regulations, coordinate with inspectors and departments, measure tank parameters, and record all data in SAP.
