Job Description
Flight Operations Supervisor – Dispatch Support will report to the Flight Operations Manager and the Executive of Dispatch Support, ensuring the effective and efficient management of the Flight Dispatch Support section. This includes obtaining overflying clearances promptly and providing accurate block times for the company’s entire route network.
Additionally, the role involves maintaining the Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) library, updating China Civil Aviation administration clearance for foreign airlines (CCAR129) for China, and assisting SriLankan Airlines Network Station Managers in securing Foreign Air Operator Certificates (FAOCs) for relevant countries.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Obtain overflying clearances from respective States for all SriLankan Airlines operated flights—scheduled, non-scheduled, and VVIP—ensuring compliance with each country’s requirements for safe operations.
- Maintain and update the AIP library to support daily operations, including new aerodromes, alternates, and en-route airports
- Analyze opportunities to optimize ground time for SriLankan Airlines operations based on seasonal variations by validating block times against actual flight data.
- Calculate accurate block times for each sector of every flight schedule to help the Schedule Planning Section publish the most efficient and productive timetables.
- Continuously monitor the Air Traffic Services (ATS) Message Handling System (AMHS), SITA telex messaging system (SITA-Telex message service provider), and other communication channels to ensure timely receipt of overflying clearance approvals from relevant authorities.
- Update and maintain CCAR 129 of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of China in line with Chinese regulatory requirements.
- Ensure adherence to special requirements stipulated by regulatory authorities of respective countries by coordinating with relevant stakeholders during the process of obtaining flight clearance approvals.
- Undertake any additional responsibilities assigned by Management to support the achievement of the company’s objectives, while actively contributing to departmental and divisional priorities and initiatives.
Requirements
- 6 Passes at GCE O/L with 4 Credits in one sitting and credits for Maths & English and 2 passes at GCE A/Ls with 4 years’ work experience including 2 years’ airline work experience.
OR - Full Professional Qualification with minimum of 3 years’ work experience including 2 years’ airline work experience.
Note: Trainee and internship experience will not be considered as work experience.
Age to be not more than 30 years as at 26th December 2025 which is the closing date.
